Celebrating World Oral Health Day with Listerine.

Listerine® joins the World Dental Federation (FDI) as a Global Supporter to celebrate World Oral Health Day

Poor oral health affects nearly 3.5 billion people worldwide with far-reaching consequences. And, yet, people do not realize how an unhealthy mouth can severely impact their lives, causing significant pain and suffering, leading to an impaired quality of life.

Hoping to motivate people to take better care of their mouths, Listerine® is partnering with the World Dental Federation (FDI) as a part of this year’s World Oral Health Day celebration on March 20th. At the center of their collaboration, Listerine® is joining the FDI’s “Be Proud of Your Mouth” campaign to elevate the importance of oral health.

Why Oral Health Is Important to Our Well-being

Oral health is multi-faceted and can impact what you eat, how you speak and how you feel about yourself. And it can negatively impact personal value and self-image, which is harmful to emotional health. And because our social well-being is built by interacting with people around us, oral diseases can also make us more resistant to social interactions and impact our personal relationships.

Doing Something About Global Oral Health

The good news? Most oral health conditions are largely preventable and can be treated in their early stages. And, by maintaining good oral health, you can positively impact your general health, well-being and quality of life. Good oral health makes it possible to laugh, eat and communicate with others without worry or anxiety. With healthy self-esteem, you have a positive state of mind and feel good about yourself.

And that’s why Listerine® and FDI are all smiles about “Be Proud of Your Mouth.” In celebration of World Oral Health Day 2022, Listerine® joins the FDI to invite everyone to share fun photos and videos showing how they take care of their oral health. Using the hashtag #MouthProudChallenge, individuals and oral healthcare professionals, alike, can amplify the impact of their good oral hygiene practices. And, by showing the positive impact of daily brushing, flossing and rinsing, they’ll inspire others to join them and do the same.

‘’Everyone can take personal action this World Oral Health Day to help start a new trend for the sake of happiness and well-being’’ says FDI President, Prof. Ihsane Ben Yahya. ‘’Let’s come together on a global scale to raise awareness, improve education and spur personal and collective action on the importance of oral health for all.’’
